Personal Mission
I aim to live a life full of meaning and adventure. In my search for adventure, I’ve realized I can find it in all sorts of activities, whether it’s bungee jumping; rock climbing; a solo cross country road trip, camping under the stars with just my dog for company; or, lately, just walking down the street while my toddler stares in wonder at some bugs. That’s why startup law has always appealed to me: I spend my days working with passionate founders with a wide variety of exciting new ideas for how to move us all forward. I find meaning in helping these ideas come to fruition, and I strongly believe that it’s possible—and preferable—to both make money and do good. It’s always fun to see founders’ hard work be rewarded with a huge exit, but my favorite teams are the ones who focus on the amazing new thing they’re creating, and let the profit be secondary.
